05/20/1932: Amelia Earhart makes the first solo flight by a woman across the Altlantic, flying from Harbor Grace, Newfoundland to Londonderry, Northern Ireland in a Lockheed Vega monoplane in 13 hours, 30 minutes.

05/21/1927: Charles Lindbergh was the first to complete a solo, nonstop transatlantic flight. Lindbergh flew 3,610 miles from New York to Paris (Le Bourget) in just under 34 hours in his single engine Ryan NYP monoplane, the Spirit of St. Louis.
