11/20/1953: The first man to exceed Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound) is American test pilot Scott Crossfield in a Douglas D-558-2 Skyrocket.

11/22/1935: Edwin Musick flew the first trans-Pacific airmail flight in a plane dubbed the “China Clipper.” Beginning in San Francisco, the airmail route stopped in Hawaii, Midway Island, Wake Island, Guam, and Manila.
